E Pluribus Unum

Through the duration of this project I have learned much about the government of other nations such as North Korea and Switzerland and I now have a better understanding of how our own government works and how it has become what it is today. I also learned how to write a bill that can be taken to congress. In the near future I hope to learn how governments can affect people worldwide. I am also interested in learning about other types of government in history and how the United States government has evolved throughout the years. One of the many challenges that I have encountered so far was typing and developing the law I created. I found it difficult and time consuming because it was very new to me and worded difficultly and professionally.

     E Pluribus Unum is the government motto. It stands for: "from many, one." I believe that this motto accurately represents the past, present, and future of our nation. It began as a way to symbolize how thirteen colonies banded together to cut the ties with Great Britain. The motto shows how our nation came together during a terrible time in our history.      Although it may not seem plausible, the motto also applies to our country today. In recent history our nation has been divided on many major topics. Our motto is there to remind us that as we have always had division we are still together, as a nation, and a united force that is still powerful in the global stage.     We may not be able to tell what the future will hold for our nation but I believe that E Pluribus Unum will be an important factor to remember while the arguments between governmental parties continue Citation: "E Pluribus Unum" Origins

Now that I have established a basic understanding on my views of government and their purpose in our society I would like to share why I am interested in Government and Political Science. Throughout my entire life I have always wanted to make a difference in the world, as cliche as that sounds. I had no way to achieve this goal until I had become more interested in the United States Government and Political Science in general. In the future, to accomplish my long term goal, I plan to pursue a career in government. Currently, I am unsure what part of government I would like to pursue, but throughout my academic career I believe I will find my passion in politics and government.

There has always been a negative stigma that surrounds politics. Many people view it as a group of people arguing and achieving nothing of importance. And although at times that may be the case, the government is instrumental in the maintenance and control of the nation along with many other important aspects of our lives. Politics effects every single person worldwide, although, it may be positive or negative. Getting involved in government and politics can cause positive change whether it be at a local or national stage, which are equally important for a society to run efficiently and properly.
